A little chronicle about our cottage

Yesterday and today

The former mountain farm (Italian: Maso) was already recorded as such in the cadastral extracts from the municipality of Frassilongo that we have in our possession, dating back as far as 1840. Until the late 1980s, and for generations before that, the farm (in the Bersntoler dialect: Hoff) was run and lived on by local farmers who, in this district (in the Bersntol dialect: Tòttn) and grew potatoes and vegetables. On the ground floor, below the current access road – previously there was only a narrow mountain path – the livestock was kept; on the upper floor, now at the level of the access road, the mountain farmers lived; and in the (barn, in the Bersntol dialect: barn under the roof) was used to store hay. In 2008, we were able to take over the farm and fully restore it by 2010. Today, following many further renovation works, the historic building shines in new splendour, both inside and out. Immerse yourself in the past and enjoy the vitality of the present.
